Welcome to National Youth Council of Nigeria

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) is the umbrella body and the authentic mouthpiece of the Nigerian Youth. It was established and given legal recognition in 1990. The NYCN has three branches which includes the National, Zonal and State chapters. The NYCN is also an affiliate to the world assembly of Youth, Pan-African Youth Union and other international Youth Councils and Organisations sharing the same objectives.

From The President

12 August every year Marks the International Youth Day. A day specially chosen by the United Nations to celebrate young people all over the world. As we all know, the Youth population is the highest everywhere, and ever-growing especially in Nigeria. As such, on behalf of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, I want to wish one of the largest youth population in the world, and the largest in Africa, those at home and abroad a happy international youth day. We must celebrate our young people for the giant strides they have taken in recent years, in the entertainment industry, in the tech world and the business world.

  • Recognising: The need to live in complete peace and harmony with one another in a world and a society devoid of social inequality and injustice.
  • Desirious: To awaken the consciousness of the Nigerian Youth to the development of the Nigerian state and philosophy of Nationalism and Pan-Africanism.

Aims:

  • To provide a common platform for all the structures of the Youth Council for the advancement of the course of the Nigerian Youth through enhanced social enlightenment, mobilization and coordination as a tool for complimenting the effort of government and other relevant stakeholders in Youth Development.
